Zweedse VLF machinezender SAQ weer actief

Ieder jaar komt de bejaarde maar nog puntgave zweedse VLF machinezender rond Alexanderson Day in de lucht met een CW bericht. En ieder jaar proberen een aantal amateurs uit de regio deze uitzending te beluisteren.

Plaats van handeling daarbij is – hoe kan het ook anders – de Oranjeplaat. De uitzendingen vinden plaats op zondag 5 juli om 11 uur en 14 uur lokale tijd. Een half uur daarvoor begint men met het op gang brengen van de zender. SAQ (de zenderidentificatie van destijds) zendt uit op 17,2 kHz, een naar hedendaagse begrippen zeer lage frequentie dus.

Hieronder vind je de aankondiging van de The Alexander association, de organisatie die de langegolfzender in ere houdt. Wellicht tot ziens op de Oranjeplaat voor het meeschrijven van de uitzendingen!

The annual transmission on Alexanderson Day with the Alexanderson Alternator on VLF 17.2 kHz with the call sign SAQ will take place Sunday, July 5th, 2020

Two transmissions are scheduled as follows:

1. Startup and tuning at 10:30 (08:30 UTC) with a transmission of a message at 11:00 (09:00 UTC).
2. Startup and tuning at 13:30 (11:30 UTC) with a transmission of a message at 14:00 (12:00 UTC)

Instead you can watch both transmission events live on our YouTube Channel. The association will try to carry out the two broadcasts to the world from the old Alexanderson alternator SAQ with minimal staffing in place.
